One of the stations, Radio Phoenix, hosted a phone in programme where a member of IPPNW discussed “The Socio-economic Impacts of Firearm Violence in Lusaka, Zambia.” It was based on the studies he did at a government hospital in Lusaka as he attended to firearm victims. Another station, Radio Icengelo, choose a topic “Possession of Small Arms is a Danger to Society” where peoples’ views were collected and then made into programmes. The Centre has been given recorded tapes and CDs for the programmes that were produced for future reference and these tapes have been added to the UNIC library collection.
