Various activities were held in Zambia to mark World Environment Day 2006 at which youth were urged to play a prominent role in the addressing the environmental challenges faced by the country through deforestation, air pollution, land degradation and waste management. Director of Forestry in the Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources called on Zambia to move in line with the International Convention on Bio-diversity and environmental protection during the celebrations held in Lusaka.
